Zhejiang Dakai Special Steel Technology Co., Ltd. (Dakai Steel) was founded in 2017 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, and has grown into a special-steel group with annual sales approaching RMB 2 billion, a 160 mu (about 106,000 m²) footprint and more than 400 employees. The group runs one headquarters and three centres: the Wenzhou head office, the Pingyang special-steel manufacturing centre, the Fujian Jinhong manufacturing centre and the Longwan digital sales centre. Export sales are handled from the company's foreign trade office in Shanghai.

The Pingyang plant runs 34 cold-rolling mills, 7 cold-drawing lines and 14 straightening lines, with solution-furnace waste-heat recovery, an ERP+MES control centre and 18% lower energy consumption per tonne of steel. A 20-strong R&D team, including 3 senior and more than 10 intermediate engineers, holds 24 intellectual property rights and six provincially certified new products, and took part in drafting the national standard GB/T 17395-2024. In 2024 the company set up a joint research institute and a CNAS-level laboratory with the New Materials Institute of the University of Science and Technology Beijing, equipped with a universal testing machine, hydrostatic tester, ultrasonic and eddy-current flaw detectors and a handheld spectrometer.

The product range covers 316L and 304 seamless and welded pipe, heat-exchanger and precision tube, sanitary tube, profile, round billet, pipe fittings, flanges and valves. Special grades include 2507 super-duplex tube for deep-sea line pipe and 2520 heat-resistant / nickel-alloy tube. Customers include PowerChina and SANY, and products are exported to RCEP member countries.
